Centre for Research on Innovation and Industrial Strategies (ISI)
Research unit
The central theme of the work conducted by the ISI Laboratory is that of innovation, analysed in a systemic manner. Two themes structure the work: Entrepreneurship, innovation trajectories and sustainable development and Enterprise, innovation and environments. On the one hand, the entrepreneur is perceived as a lever function of economic and social change. On the other hand, the dynamics of innovation environments and systems (local, regional, national) guide industrial strategies and work organization. Theoretical and empirical work focuses on the innovation dynamics of companies and sectors or sectors and on innovation policies in relation to the scientific and technical resources accumulated in the territories. Territorial projects for restructuring and redeployment of resources, for example around the circular economy (including new economic models around industrial ecology and the economy of functionality), are at the heart of the attractiveness and territorial dynamics in terms of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The laboratory organises, supports research, production, dissemination and exploitation of knowledge through basic and applied research programmes, the organisation of scientific events, publications and publishing activities. It trains Masters and PhD students in research and through research. It interacts with public institutions, the professional world and associations working in its field of activity.
