Contemporary Arts Studies Centre (CEAC )

Research unit - ULR 3587

Description

We develop research projects and research-creation projects in the fields of visual arts, performing arts (theater, dance, music, cinema), and art theory and history. We study processes and forms of creation from the dawn of the 20th century to the present day. We aim to combine theoretical reflection and multi-artistic realization within the framework of research on the interactions between art and philosophy, art and psychology, as well as art and politics. Music, theater, dance, visual arts and cinema are all part of our centre, with a particular emphasis on gestural arts and productions based on new technologies. Aesthetics and poetics constantly intersect determining the orientation of the axes and research programs that structure the intellectual and artistic activities of the centre. We are open to academic and cultural collaborations and propose training and services in line with our expertise.
