Drugs and Molecules for Living Systems (M2SV)

Research unit - U 1177

Description

The mission of our unit is to design and synthesize drug candidates presenting an innovative mode of action, aiming to offer significant therapeutic progress in indications where medical need is unmet. This interdisciplinary molecular invention is based on the latest findings on the mechanisms of infectious, metabolic and cancer diseases. Beyond the therapeutic objective, molecules also serve as valuable tools that help biologists better understand how cells and living organisms function and verify that the proposed hypotheses for the treatment of diseases are relevant. The team’s researchers are working on antibiotic resistance, viral infections (COVID-19), type 2 diabetes, NASH, some forms of cancer and autoimmune diseases.
