Description

The Efficient-Drive platform, composed of three dynamic engine benches, aims to develop and evaluate on the speed cycle, advanced automatic tools related to the control of petrol and/or hybrid thermal engines. The emulation of a complete road law is made possible by the control of the load machine, coupled to the crankshaft via an in-line coupler.

A first engine bench instrumented and equipped with an open calculator, is specifically dedicated to the development of the driving laws of internal combustion engines, but also advanced diagnostic tools.
The second engine bench is equipped with a VALEO light hybrid with a third-generation BSG144 starter-alternator powered by a supercapacity pack.

It makes it possible to study hybrid traction chains and validate energy management laws determined by optimization tools. The third engine bench, based on a six-cylinder petrol engine, was designed to address the problems related to the valorization of calories lost in exhaust gases in electricity (coupling internal combustion engine with Stirling external combustion engine).

Recently equipped with a flow-modulated hydrogen distribution, Efficient-Drive now enables the development of driving strategies based on dual-fuel/H2.
