Extreme Tribology (TRIBEX)

Platform

Description

The Extreme Tribology platform allows to reproduce the friction and wear conditions in severe conditions of speed, temperature and contact pressure.

Specific tests are developed on the various equipments that make it up to recreate on a reduced scale the contact conditions that are involved in the shaping processes and other applications where friction is severe such as braking. The post-treatment of the samples produced allows to identify the mechanisms of wear and damage at the interfaces, to select cutting oils and lubricants according to the conditions of surfaces, to reproduce the particles generated (3rd body) in real situation.

This platform is part of the Tribosurf regional platform and continues its development through the RITMEA project co-funded by the State, the Hauts-de-France region and the PO Féder (2021 - 2027)
