Laboratory of Electrotechnical Systems and Environment (LSEE)

Research unit - UR 4025

Description

The research conducted at the Laboratory of Electrotechnical Systems and Environment (LSEE, UR 4025) focuses on the environmental efficiency of rotating electrical machines and transformers. In other words, the laboratory researchers are designing more efficient electromagnetic components, constrained by their uses and accepted in their environment. A good example? An electric actuator on board an aircraft: it must be light, reliable and powerful!
Specifically, the members of the laboratory work on the design of efficient and silent electrical machines on the one hand and, on the other hand, on the structural reliability of electrical equipment with the detection of defects inherent in aging or the improvement of Electrical Insulation Systems (EIS). These two themes have a common focus: the design of machines capable of withstanding extreme internal temperatures.
A strong and historical identity of the LSEE focuses on the systematization of validation through experimentation. The test methods are well known and contribute to the attractiveness of the laboratory!
