Laboratory of Physics of Lasers, Atoms and Molecules (PhLAM)

Research unit - UMR 8523

The PhLAM laboratory is a joint research unit under the dual supervision of the CNRS and the University of Lille. Our research topics are mainly focused on light-matter interaction through 5 major axes: Physics of Laser-Cooled Atoms, Dynamics of Complex Systems (DYSCO), Theoretical Molecular Physics and Chemistry (TMPC), Photonics and Molecular Physics at Interactions (PMI).
Our activities have a very strong experimental component, which requires a more and more sustained support at the modeling level. We develop innovative technological applications with a high societal impact through strong industrial partnerships, in particular with regional companies.
We are interested in the study of dilute phases (atomic or molecular gases, aggregates) as well as dense phases of matter (molecular processes on the surface, nonlinear physics, biophysics, optical fibers). We use pulsed or continuous radiation sources in various spectral ranges from UV to TeraHertz. We are open to all academic and industrial collaborations and propose services in line with our expertise.
